I would vote for a referendum on HST but I would vote against a recall. As we see a bunch of election losers from the BC Conservatives are hoping to profit from this. They are not fighting out of principle but a lust for power.
....unlike our worthy gladiators presently in power.....selflessly crusading for what is right and just and keeping the public in the dark about why CN paid $300,000 to Patrick Kinsella when Basi an Virk were still gainfully employed....ah, the glory of it all.
The Anti HST campaign should launch recall campaigns in twelve Liberal ridings where the MLA is in jeopardy. BUT there will be a lottery to see which 4 actually get recalled. This ensures the government will survive but many MLA's can be made to suffer.
The Recallers can hold a public draw on the steps of the Art gallery, guaranteed massive press coverage. You could even hold a reverse draw to see which 8 survive! And in the run up to the lottery draw you can absolutely sweat out the twelve MLA's and see if you can get them to pull a 'Lekstrom'.
It would be an enormously fun recall campaign as well.

So, just out of curiosity, is anyone managing this blog any more? Anybody speak to Barry F. recently and get any word on what's up? I thought he was putting together a new blog or reformatting, or some such thing. Also, is Barry R. going to come back and manage his topic and delete the spam? Why is Garry H spamming us with anti HST propaganda? Is he also responsible for the viagra and porn spam? Yes, the silly season is definitely here.
Barry F is taking a hiatus from the blog for personal reasons.
I suspect if one of the more even handed contributors talked to Barry, he would happily hand over the keys.
Just delete the blog.
If, in fact, Barry is taking an hiatus, why hasn't he posted a notification of such? Why doesn't he make an appearance to let everyone know what's going on? Such a simple courtesy to his fellow bloggers would go a long way.
Barry has abandoned this since it was just a garbage pail of anon libel. He could not risk the lawsuit and the PACs were starting to complain that a trustee had a blog that they was inappropriate for their kids to read.
This blog could have doomed Barry's political career just it started moving.

Or already has? If Barry wants any party's nomination he has to go through their 'green light' committee and it would be interesting to be the proverbial fly on the wall and hear the questions raised about this place.
Bottom line is that Barry's job is not to be a homer for the Liberals, NDP or whomever and all sorts of people seek party nominations who were not necessarily the party they would have supported 5-10 years ago.
I could name names locally but it wouldn't help the discussion.
